Pick any two.
No samples here
There are no samples on this website. None. You can see what people have said about me and you can see what kind of work I’ve done but you can’t find samples of my work on this website.
Samples show you how well I write. That’s it. They don’t show what I was briefed on, they don’t show what context the work appeared in, and they don’t show what the objective was.
So if you see a sample of mine, it might look good. It might even look great. But if you don’t know what the client asked for, what they wanted the reader to do, or what the reader would see before and after the sample, then you can’t really judge it that fairly.
Think of it like looking at a car. A diesel-powered four-wheel drive might be amazing at driving through jungles and small rivers. But if you only need to drive to and from the supermarket, that’s completely irrelevant to you. On the other end of the spectrum, that four-wheel drive isn’t going to do you much good if you asked for an Abrams tank.
Context is everything, and samples offer none. My clients can use this blog to see how well I write, and if they want to talk about what they need, they can drop me a line. The combination helps both me and my clients far more than a few samples ever could.
